I have recently read a novel written by Arthur Golden named "Memories of a Geisha". I really enjoyed to read this book, it is an exciting and arousing book, which made me think about life from a different point of view.
The main character in the book is Chiyo- Sayuri. The book centers around the young, nine year old girl, Chiyo, who lives in a poor fishing village. Chiyo and her older sister are sent to the geisha district. With her unusual blue-grey eyes, Chiyo is chosen to be trained to become a geisha but Hatsumomo, the top geisha of Mrs. Nitta, who had custody of all the geishas in the house, abuse her and makes it difficult for her because of her jealousy. Chiyo experiences some crisis due to Hatsumomo's attitude and her longing to her family.
The turning point in the book is when Chiyo meets Mr. Tanaka, a wealthy businessman, then her life changes dramatically. The knowledge that they will be together one day encourages her and helps her to improve her life.
To sum up, I would like to tell you that the book fascinated me. Therefore, I recommend the book to anyone who wants to be exposed to a different kind of life and meet a lovely and strong competition with difficults.

The Disaster Between Our Ears
Nutritionist Alice Brown says that people need to be more responsible for what they eat. In my opinion, the responsibility for producing healthier food shouldn't be conducted by food manufacturers. I think that we, as people who care for ourselves, should be responsible for what we consume. The only thing that manufacturers should be responsible for is to detail all the ingredients of the food.
First of all, the responsibility for what we consume is supposed to be only ours. The only thing that interests most of the manufacturers is the competitiveness of the sales. When they sell us some food, they don't think about the damage it will cause us in the future, only about how much they earn.
Secondly, each person should know himself and be aware of what kind of food he should consume, and what kind of products he should preferably avoid. Manufacturers shouldn't be responsible for what we choose to eat, meaning that the nutrition of each person hanging in some criterions that manufacturers don't know about us like weight, height and different health problems.
Finally, only we should be responsible for our consumption and not anyone else. We can't rely on manufacturers' advertisement and should investigate our nutrition. Only we know what we can consume and what fits us. We should worry about ourselves and be aware of what we put in our mouth.
